Welcome to Chariton General Store. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of our website located at charitongeneralstore.com (the “Site”) and the purchase of products from Chariton General Store LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”).
By accessing or using the Site, creating an account, placing an order, or purchasing a product from us, you agree to be bound by these Terms and by any policies referenced in these Terms (each as may be updated from time to time). If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
These Terms apply to all users of the Site, including browsers, customers, and account holders. You agree that:

You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your state) to make a purchase on the Site. By using the Site, you represent that you are legally able to enter into a binding contract.
You may be able to create an account to make checkout faster and view order history. If you create an account, you agree to:

- keep your login information secure; and
- notify us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without permission.
You are responsible for activity that occurs under your account.
Chariton General Store LLC is a retail and farm supply business based in Iowa. We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason at any time, to the extent permitted by law.
You understand that content you submit (not including credit card information) may be transferred unencrypted and involve transmissions over various networks. Credit card information is always encrypted during transfer over networks when processed through our payment providers.
We offer a variety of products, including but not limited to:
- Farm Supplies & Animal Nutrition: Products for livestock and agricultural use.
- Artisan Collection: Handcrafted wood items and home goods.
- Body Care: Handmade soaps and lotions.
- Everyday Essentials & Food: Kitchen tools and Iowa-made food products.
- Child’s Play: Toys and wooden items.
- Refill Station: Bulk detergent and cleaners.
We work to display product details, colors, and images as accurately as we can, but screens may display colors differently and some items may have natural variations (especially handmade or small-batch goods). Images on the Site may include artificial intelligence-generated content or licensed stock photography and may not always be an exact representation of the product offered.
Prices and availability may change at any time without notice. Unless stated otherwise, prices shown do not include applicable taxes or shipping/handling, which will be calculated at checkout.
We may limit the sales of our products to any person, geographic region, or jurisdiction, and we may discontinue any product at any time.
Order acceptance. Your order is an offer to buy. We may accept, reject, or limit any order for any reason (to the extent permitted by law). An order is not accepted until we confirm it (for example, by sending a confirmation email and/or shipping the item).
Payment. You agree to pay the total price shown at checkout, including taxes and shipping/handling (if applicable). We may use third-party payment processors; your payment is subject to their terms as well.
Billing information. You agree to provide current, complete, and accurate purchase and account information. We may cancel or place a hold on orders if we cannot verify billing or shipping information.
For customers purchasing certain animal nutrition products, it is the customer’s sole responsibility to possess and provide a valid Veterinary Feed Directive (VFD) as required by law. Failure to provide a valid VFD for applicable items will result in the cancellation of the item from the order, subject to the fees outlined in our Return Policy.
Shipping, local delivery, and pickup options (including timing, costs, and eligibility) are described in our separate Shipping Policy, which is incorporated by reference.
- Shipping: We ship nationwide within the United States (unless otherwise noted).
- Local Delivery: Available within designated southern Iowa zones (when offered).
- Pickup: Orders may be picked up at our physical location: 25915 482nd St, Chariton, IA 50049.
Unless otherwise required by law, risk of loss and title for items purchased pass to you upon our delivery to the carrier.
Returns, refunds, exchanges, and eligibility are described in our separate Return Policy, which is incorporated by reference. Some items may be non-returnable or may have special conditions due to the nature of the product (for example, perishable items or certain regulated items). Please review the Return Policy before you place an order.
The Site and its original content, features, and functionality (including text, graphics, logos, and design) are owned by Chariton General Store LLC or our licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
You may not copy, reproduce, modify, distribute, sell, or exploit any part of the Site or our content without our prior written permission, except as allowed by law.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Site and all products and services provided through the Site are provided on an “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” basis, without warranties of any kind, either express or implied.
Without limiting the above, we disclaim any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement. We do not guarantee that the Site will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.
Some states do not allow certain disclaimers, so some of these disclaimers may not apply to you.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Chariton General Store LLC (and our owners, directors, officers, employees, contractors, and affiliates) will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising out of or related to your use of the Site or any products purchased through the Site.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising out of or related to the Site or any products purchased through the Site will not exceed the amount you paid us for the product(s) giving rise to the claim.
Some states do not allow certain limitations of liability, so some of these limitations may not apply to you.
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Chariton General Store LLC from any claim or demand, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, made by any third party due to or arising out of your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the Site, or your violation of any law or the rights of a third party.
These Terms and any dispute or claim arising out of or related to these Terms, the Site, or any products purchased from us will be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Iowa, United States, without regard to its conflict of laws rules.
We may update these Terms from time to time by posting the updated Terms on the Site and updating the “Last Updated” date above. Changes are effective when posted. Your continued use of the Site after changes are posted means you accept the updated Terms.
