Looking for an adventure on the water? Rent a kayak from Chariton General Store and enjoy a day of paddling and exploration! Conveniently located across the road from Lake Morris, we offer hourly rentals for $30 for 3 hours, $45 for 5 hours, or  $60 for 11 hours during store hours (8 a.m. - 8 p.m. M-F, 8 a.m. - 2 p.m. Sat.) unless prior arrangements are made.

✅ Simple & Convenient Rental Process

• Reserve your kayak online or in-store.
• Sign your waiver electronically using the form provided after purchase.
• Provide a valid driver's license (photo upload required at checkout-unless you provide it via electronic waiver).
• Preauthorization of $50.

✅ Transportation Options

• Currently, the preferred option is kayaking at Lake Morris. We will transport your kayak to Lake Morris for you.
• We are willing to discuss other rental options such as off-site rentals providing your own transport. Stop by or call Mandi at (641) 203-5625 before ordering.

🚨 Security & Responsibility

• A preauthorization is required to cover potential injuries, damages, loss, or theft.
• Rentals must be returned at the agreed upon time or day to avoid late fees.
• A pre-inspection and post-inspection of equipment is required (5-10 minutes).

If you do not know how to kayak, please let us know. We want you to be safe. If we know in advance, we can offer a complimentary tutorial to get you started. If you decide kayaking isn't for you after the tutorial, no worries. You do not have to rent a kayak.
