The Rhode Island Red is the gold standard for dual-purpose chickens. Famous for their deep mahogany red feathers and hardiness, they can handle almost any climate or condition. Sourced from Hoover’s Hatchery, these birds are tough, resilient, and fantastic at foraging. While they can be a bit more active and dominant in the pecking order than other breeds, their ability to produce 250+ large brown eggs a year makes them an essential part of any productive flock.
