The Lavender Orpington is one of the most sought-after breeds for backyard flocks, and for good reason. They possess the same large, fluffy size and friendly personality as the Buff Orpington but feature a rare, recessive “self-blue” (lavender) color gene that makes them absolutely beautiful. Sourced from Hoover’s Hatchery, these birds are calm, quiet, and very cold hardy due to their loose feathering. They are reliable layers of brown eggs and love attention.
